We went on a drawing trip to the Victoria and Albert Museum in London with my illustration class. I did this one when I got home using some of the photos & sketches that I did while I was there as reference.
I liked this plaster cast made by Michelangelo and I really wanted to draw it because it was a great chance to make use of the light and dark in the statue.
The process I have used for this project is to replicate the lino cut/relief print process in a digital technique. To do this I create a silhouette/black background in illustrator and then use brushes the replicate the style of lino cut. I'm now trying to make it look more professional by being more accurate with my strokes.
